Happy Camper Quilt

Don' t you LOVE LOVE LOVE the Moda Bakeshop? Made this twin quilt for my son G with a Jellyroll, 1yard of the camp print, and 2 yards of the pannel print in the "Happy Camper" line. I'm in love with this quilt. The bright primary colors are perfect for a kids room. It also happens to match well with his baby quilt mounted on the wall behind his bed!

Gman said "I LUZZ MY NEW QUILT! Even if it doesn't has a matching Pillow..." Guess I know what's on the project table next!

Post Modern Strawberry Shortcake

Modern quilting seems to be the new kniting (remember when Knitting made a "come back" a few years back, and hipsters and college girls took it up?). I don't LOVE the results, but am desperate to make M a "baby" quilt before she turns 3. G's was done when he was 1. I was going for kind of a modern pattern with some vintage fabrics. I'll try again with the strawberries print. For now M loves it!

YW Thank You

This was a little thank you put together for a leader in our church young women's organization who is moving away. We'll miss you Joyce! I used printable fabric sheets to print out the Beehive Class logo, then did a quilt as you go technique, and left the back white so that there is room for signatures. Would anyone like a tutorial on this?

Stacked Coins for Bloggers Quilt Festival

This is pretty exciting, I'm participating in the "Bloggers Quilt Festival" hosted by this lady.
This is a stacked coins quilt I made a few years back, and it is one of my all time fav's in our home. Most of my quilts are made for us, or as gifts and occasionally I get to do a comission and earn some extra money while doing one of my favorite things! No...not eating cookies...QUILTING. It has bits and pieces of all my favorite fabrics (at the time...). One thing I learned from this experience...is that I need to be writing down what I'm doing when making projects. Usually I never use patterns, and just go for it after getting an idea. However when my I was comissioned this spring to make a duplicate, I realized it would have been nice to be able to refer back to exactly how it was done. Here's a snippet of the original:
Now here's the duplicate in process. My "helpers" had a good time with this one.

And the finished duplicate. Darn, why didn't I take a twinners picture of them hanging side by side? Oh well.

Check out all the other awesome quilts at the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

Rainbow Runner

Put together this "Crazy Log Cabin" table runner for my Mom for mothers day. She said "Oh, I don't know honey, how about a table runner. Something bright and cheerful we could look at this summer." Not everything in life is rainbows and ponies, but I can't help but smile when I look at this cute Rainbow Runner!

Name Quilts

I realize my pictures are TERRIBLE for the most part, and we're working on that...just wanted to share the name quilts that have been done lately, some as gifts and some for comissions. Send me an email if you are interested in purchasing a custom name quilt!
