Stacked Coins for Bloggers Quilt Festival

This is pretty exciting, I'm participating in the "Bloggers Quilt Festival" hosted by this lady.
This is a stacked coins quilt I made a few years back, and it is one of my all time fav's in our home. Most of my quilts are made for us, or as gifts and occasionally I get to do a comission and earn some extra money while doing one of my favorite things! No...not eating cookies...QUILTING. It has bits and pieces of all my favorite fabrics (at the time...). One thing I learned from this experience...is that I need to be writing down what I'm doing when making projects. Usually I never use patterns, and just go for it after getting an idea. However when my I was comissioned this spring to make a duplicate, I realized it would have been nice to be able to refer back to exactly how it was done. Here's a snippet of the original:
Now here's the duplicate in process. My "helpers" had a good time with this one.

And the finished duplicate. Darn, why didn't I take a twinners picture of them hanging side by side? Oh well.

Check out all the other awesome quilts at the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

Love coin quilts. Made one and it was one of the prettiest things I've done. Yours is nice and fun to see your kiddos in pictures! Always makes it more interesting and of course they're always so helpful!! Thanks for sharing and have a great day

Your quilt looks great. I always like the stacked coins as a pattern for just about any fabric.

I find having a blog is great for helping remind me what I did last time. Even when I post a 'tutorial' it's so I dont have to reinvent the wheel next time! I love the stacked coins, one I havent tried. i especially like that each column shows different colours, not a sort of chunky bargello which so many are. thanks for sharing

It is so pretty. I'm glad you were able to re-create it without too much issue and now you have your blog so you will alway have records of how something was done. :D
